You Don't Have a Ghost of a Chance

I really have my scene nailed down pretty tightly in terms of design. I made a character sheet for my ghost girl and will begin modeling her soon.
I also look up techniques on creating convincing yet low poly flora. I have not decided on my ultimate tri-count, but I would like to keep it fairly low so I can really test out some techniques on high-poly to low-poly modeling and show that I have the chops to make beautiful game assets that aren't poly heavy.

(By the way, the title comes from the Yu-Gi-Oh abridged series. I highly recommend it).

Shooting Star: Savior of the Universe

I forgot to upload these. I worked so hard and made such silly characters that I want to share them with the world. Here is Shooting Star with her loveable sidekick Asteroid the Space Shark featuring Singularity the evil villain. Also featured is her Rainbow Ray-Gun and vehicle the U.S.S. Donut!

Here are some doodles I have been doing throughout the week. Most of them occur during Level Design.

Scene Design

So, I have many ideas for scenes (like an urban/dystopian Alice in Wonderland or Japanese garden) but I have narrowed it down to something simple and beautiful. I want to make a ghost so freaking bad, so I have this depressed ghost sitting in the middle of a pond over a relic of some sort. An adventurer will be standing at the edge staring at her. There will be willow trees and fireflies and assortments of other flora/fauna. They will have a Wind Waker cartoony style to them and will be animated and interact. My bonus idea if I have time is to have a sort of choose your own adventure theme where the adventurer will be confronted by a series of questions and the answers give different results. I think it would be fun. Here are a couple of sketches/paintings of said scene. The painting captures the color pallet I would like to use (very blue and cold).

Week 1 Sketches

If You Want to View Paradise, Simply Look Around and View It

Here we are in Game Art 3. To begin this wonderful journey of the imagination, we were assigned to create an influence map. This cool internet meme that began its long career on DeviantArt is a fun way to map out everything that inspires our style, bias, and the subject matter of our artwork. I have so many influences that I increased the size, and yet, I still have many more that didn't make it in (like ee cummings, Henry Clarke, Satoshi Kon, among others), but this is a considerable amount of my influences.
